So, let's step back a touch...last Friday night, Jancee and Ashley came over to celebrate Christmas with me. We had a blast. We did a little shopping first, ate dinner, and then came back to the house to paint ornaments and open presents.
The ornaments were really cute, though we lost a few to dropping and such (right, Jancee?! ha ha)
The girls were excited about the KU t-shirts I got for them, and I loved the gifts they gave me - one was a soft, stuffed, charcoal-colored hippo! Why the hippo? Well, I love the Christmas song..."A hippopotamus for Christmas", so that was a cute idea! I also got the cozy socks I'm wearing right now, and a cool robe from Bath and Body Works. Good job gals!
After breakfast at First Watch on Saturday morning, I had to take them home. Ashley and I actually went out shopping again, trying to find presents for her parents, and picking up some of Jancee's shopping items for her too.
Saturday night, Terry wasn't feeling well, so I grabbed some dinner with Kathy and the boys. We also took Harrison to get his hair cut, and Marcus and I looked around at a pet store and Walgreens to kill some time.
Sunday afternoon/evening was Christmas with the Wilkes! We were trying to rememeber how many years we've been doing this - we think it's something like 14! I know we started before Harrison was born...crazy to think about that. Kathy cooked roast - YUM! - and her homemade rolls, of course. It's just not a special occasion without the homemade rolls and cinnamon rolls - they are SOOO GOOD (yet, so bad! ha ha) So, we enjoyed a delicious dinner. Harrison was so excited to open presents that he actually did the dishes while the rest of us were still eating!
It's always fun opening presents with them - I love to see how excited the boys get (ok, Terry and Kathy are excited too)! I got some very cool clothes from them too - I've already worn a few items. We played lots of games and had a good time.
Monday, everyone else had to go to work/school (well, everyone but ME! - good timing on the unemployment, eh?!), so I did the rest of my shopping, and made dinner for the Wilkes. Since my dad was working late tonight, we invited my mom to come eat dinner with us. That was fun too. She had to hurry home to finish making treats for our family Christmas, so the rest of us played games again - fun!
Tuesday night, Bill and Kim both had to work, so Bailey spent the night with me. And, guess what we did? We painted ornaments! We each had like 4 different ornaments to paint, so the creative juices were flowing. I did another Ironman ornament too - still need to finish it, so maybe I'll post some pics when I finish them. Here are a few pics of Bailey on Christmas Eve morning...Tucker was snuggling with her -
So, that brings us to Christmas Eve night - the McPherson family celebration! We all went over to mom and dad's house for dinner and fanfare. Mom made SO MUCH FOOD - including the traditional sausage roll, which she thinks no one ever really likes! ha ha It was all delicious! Of course, presents come really quickly after dinner. Bill and Kim brought their two dogs (Sarge and Diesel) too, so we had 400 pounds of dog in the house too! It was crazy. We had a nice time exchanging gifts, and then mom broke out the eggnog and other yummies. We watched a Christmas movie and watched the dogs fight over their toys. :-)
There you have it - it's Christmas!!!

Very cute pictures of Tucker. Glad to hear you've recovered from the flu. I hope you continue to have a great holiday weekend!
Thanks for the update! Loved reading about all of it. Email me some sausage rolls, eggnog, and treats. Yummmm.
