Yes, I was hit with the oh-so-lovely stomach flu! No, I did not get the flu shot. The only year I did get the shot, I got the flu! So, I've had many happy years without the flu and happened to catch it this go around. Thankfully it was a fairly quick episode, lasting only 24 hours. You just forget how miserable it is to feel that wrenching in your gut!
Ok, so enough about that. My weekend was full of lots of activity...Saturday morning we all went to Kim's pinning ceremony. She if officially a nurse and we were all there to witness the formal process of receiving her pin. I'm so proud of her for all the hard work she put in and know she will be a fantastic nurse. The great news is that she already has a job and has been working as a grad nurse for a few weeks now. Yippee!
After the pinning ceremony, I ran a few errands and then headed out to see my friends, Janey and Jennifer, for some holiday baking! It was so much fun - the girls had the Christmas tunes playing and had already started the festivities, so it was quite Christmas-ee in the homestead. Very nice! We had a good time making goodies and hanging out. I have a picture to post, if I ever get my camera hooked up to the ol' laptop.
There was also a shin-dig at the bike shop this evening, so I stopped by Epic on my way over to Terry and Kathy's. It was fun seeing everyone and meeting some of the Epic race team members. Terry came by there as well, 'cause he'll be racing on the Epic team in 2009. We didn't stay there long, 'cause we were heading over to their house to celebrate Terry's birthday. Kathy fixed a yummy dinner and we arrived just in time to eat. Yum!
After dinner, Terry opened his presents (again, I have a few pics...) and we play some games. I love to play games and just don't do it often enough. It was a fun evening!
Let's see - what else? Oh yes, Sunday morning was our choir christmas program, and that went very well. I didn't feel great on Sunday and had to decline an invite to finish baking with the girls (we didn't get to finish everything on Saturday). I spent the afternoon on the couch, but got up to go back to church Sunday night. The kiddos did their program and it was so cute. They did a really good job.
So, Monday morning I woke up feeling awful, and that brings us back to the start of this blog entry. I won't revisit that part!
Yesterday morning it was snowing...and continued to snow most of the day. I think we ended up with 3.5 inches. It's been super cold here - like in the single digits or teens, and tomorrow we're supposed to have an ice storm. Eeeks!

Sorry you've been sick. It doesn't sound like you have time to be sick. I love seeing how busy you are. Let's talk soon.

Glad you're feeling better. We got snow too but thanks to good 'ol Southern California the only place it really stuck was up in the mountains so it's easy to still ride if you can stand the colder temps! =)
Thought I'd check in and see what you've been up to. Sorry you've been sick. I had a bout with the stomach flu myself last weekend - not fun. And this past weekend we were snowed in. I don't know the official count, but unofficially we're saying upwards of 12+ inches. Gotta love winter in Northeast NE!
