Beautiful weather!!!

No, that's not a joke! Our weather is actually gorgeous here...and (fingers crossed) it will be like this all weekend. FINALLY, a weekend of nice training? Can it be?

I'm beat, spent, exhausted - have I said those things before? Well, I am. I've been fortunate to not have to do a ton of client events lately, but last night was an exception. I had a client dinner that started at 6pm and ended with me crawling into bed a bit before 1 a.m. RIDICULOUS!!!!!
I'm not a drinker at all, but the guys I was with did drinks/dinner/more drinks. Well, I did do the dinner part - I'm all about the eating right now! :-)
We were at the Power & Light district, downtown. I haven't been down there, and it is all so different! Anyway, at least it was a pretty night to be standing outdoors for a while. I tried to make an exit several times, but it wasn't working. There's a fine line here with the obligation to entertain clients and the need to keep a schedule.
I finally made my exit after 11pm. I was already zonked, but had to walk back to my car, drive by the parents' house and pick up poor Tucker, and head home. I got home about 12, but still had a few things to do before I could hit the hay. I was pretty tired.
It's ridiculous that I didn't leave sooner than I did, and I was very mad at myself for not being more insistent. The conversation I had with myself went a little something like this: I'm already tired, I have already missed a short run workout tonight due to this dinner, I doubt very much that I'll be able to get on the bike tomorrow morning...let alone get in the pool...the race is only a few weeks away...you're a fool! They don't get it. They just don't get why I can't operate on 3 1/2 hours of sleep. When I'm getting up for spin class, they'll be snoozin'! They don't have to show up at "the office" tomorrow, but I do!

Sure, we had a good conversation - me and myself. Good times.

So, I'm typing this, actually struggling to keep my eyes open. I'm s-l-e-e-p-y!

So sorry about that dinner, but I do hope that you'll enjoy the nice weather. Ah, to be warm. Your wet and cold weather is now at my house. Sharon
