Call me Flipper

Another Masters swim under my belt - man, I'm tellin' ya...I wish I would've been going to those LONG before now. It's such a great workout, and the coach is great with instruction and tips throughout. So many things to work on, and so little time!

We've had to do lots of kicking, which Troy really hates. Most of the folks in the pool use flippers, so Troy purchased some over the weekend, and seemed pretty cheery about doing the kick today. He was really fast with those things. So, I guess Paul thought I looked pretty pathetic, trying to keep up, and tossed me some fins another gals left there. They were a touch too small for me (just means they rub/cut the toes - who needs toes?!), but I put them on and did a trial run. They DO make you fast! Then, Troy and I "raced"...he won, but just by a tad. At least it made kicking a bit more fun. I switched fins to these HUGE ones. They seriously made me feel like I had a motor - they were super fast, but I just couldn't keep them on my feet. Anyway, that was our swimming fun for today. We got in about 3700 yds.

I'm gonna try to be better about just throwing quick blurbs out here on the blog. I guess it beats not having updates for weeks at a time, eh?

Can you wear fins in the ironman? Or is that just for training?
