So, today marked the first day of siblings working out together! Bill and I are giving it a trial period of me compiling workouts and us meeting to do them together. A few folks have commented that this might be the next great reality tv show! Perhaps I should have someone follow us...just in case!
We met at the Y, and another buddy of Bill's came too. I didn't know we would have company. We started with treadmill warm up, then intervals, then lots of core work...good times. And, when all was said and done, it was a really good workout, and we all had a good time together!
I also started some home renovations today (which could be a completely different show - "Why NOT to Do-it-Yourself!" I've been in my house for about 9 years, and the flooring in the kitchen and bath have seen better days. I have actually wanted to replace them for years and just haven't done it. Soooo, it's time!
My good ol' buddy, Terry, tested his tile-laying ability on their kitchen and bath, and is just DYING to put those newfound skills back into practice (right Terry?!)
Anyway, we started knocking out tile in the bathroom Monday evening. Terry had to run an errand, so I decided to give it a go and "help" out. I had NO idea how tough this task is...for starters, the prior home owners used wall tile on the floor. And, as I've found with so many other things in this house, they just did poor work on things. Anyhoo, picture me with a hammer and whatever that other tool is called...whacking away...tile chips flying...ears ringing...sweat pouring...ok, I didn't say it was a glamorous image! It was hard! I only worked on it for maybe 30 minutes and manged to remove a pretty small section. Only 1 tile came out close to whole.
When Terry returned, I said, I'm concerned about your hands, ears and eyes! Those slivers/chips were flying...the hands throbbing...and the noise was piercing! Within a few minutes of work, Terry had shoved toilet paper in his ears, was wearing his sunglasses, and rummaged some gloves out of his truck. I'll look for some protective eyewear, earplugs and such tomorrow!
I didn't realize we were starting on the tile tonight, so I already had plans to go over to Jennifer/Bonnie's. We all had a great time...they wanted my chocolate chip cookie recipe and to know how I make them, so I took all the goods over and we made a batch. Mmmmm! We also watched the Bachelor, which is such a joke! Sure, it's entertaining, but RIDICULOUS!
When I came home, it looked like Terry had pulled up a bit of the linoleum in the kitchen too. Uh-oh, this doesn't look like it's gonna come up very easily either!

It is a fun idea, working out with siblings. My two sisters and I have run together and played soccer. I trained with one sister and did a few triathlons, hopefully the other sister will join us sometime. It is SO fun working out with friends and family.
