So, yesterday was a *big* day (chuckle)...I actually had to set my alarm and get up before 7! I met some former coworkers and carpooled out South to a firm that is helping us with re-vamping our careers. The class had maybe 15 people in it, and of the 15, all but 3 were former ACI employees. Funny. It was good to see some familiar faces, and interesting to hear/see what tools and services this firm has to offer. It certainly seems like a process that will be helpful, so I'm looking forward to getting started with them.
They step you through a process that helps you take a look at current skills and success and determine what type of work you would like to pursue. The process also helps with networking, resume creation, etc. As I said, it seems that they have many good tools to offer and I'm thankful these services are available to me.
A few of us had planned to do lunch after the session, and that was a really good time. It's interesting to hear others talk about how they have been spending their time. And, it's entertaining to hear others voice what I've been thinking. For example...we all joked at how odd it was to set the alarm and head out of the house before 8 am! We discussed how much we are enjoying the freedom and flexibility, and how it will be interesting to see where each of us lands.
Oh yes, and I have some other big news - Angie had her baby girl!!! (anything to get out of going to lunch with me, right Angie? ha ha) Morgan Eiko arrived Tuesday night and has lots and lots of dark hair. She's adorable, and I cannot wait to meet her! Congratulations to Angie and Chris!
