Today was 60+ degrees outside, and though I'm still hacking a bit, I couldn't resist getting on the bike and heading out! Terry and I had planned to meet up North and hit the Interurban route. I stopped by Epic to pick up some stuff for his tires, and Scott said he was gonna ride. Of course, I invited him to join us!
I was a tad worried that I wouldn't be able to hang with the fellas, having been sick for 4 weeks - I mean, I can barely hang when I'm feeling well. That said, it was sooooo worth it to get outdoors and into the sunshine! They guys said we were just gonna kinda take it easy, but I'm fairly certain we didn't hit any speed under 20mph on the way out (to be fair, we did have a bit of a tailwind).
We went out to Camden Point and the guys were gonna head on a bit further to Dearborn, but I decided to head back, knowing I'd have the headwind on the way back.
So, I turned around and slowed it up a bit as I headed back. Man...I just can't even tell you how great it was to be out in the sunshine and the wind. It's mentally refreshing as much as the physical exercise!
The guys weren't able to go to much further down the road, due to some construction, and they caught back up to me when I was about 1/2 way back. Terry decided to stay out and do that loop again, and Scott and I headed back towards the cars. I'll be honest, I was pretty spent by the time we hit the final stretch, but it sure felt GREAT!!!
Tonight, we went out for Kim's birthday - HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIM!!! My parents made reservations at the Hereford House...very yummy. It was fun getting together with the family!
