I woke up early - not too early, 'cause Jenn has a test today and I didn't want her to have to miss out on sleep - Jennie greeted me with a birthday card. That was sweet! I threw on some clothes, loaded up the car and headed out. As I was driving out of Denver, the HUGE moon was in my rear view mirror, along with the purple mountains - it was beautiful, and I wished I was heading towards them instead of East. As I drove, I started to see a hint of the sun - how cool the two views front/back - it was a beautiful, sunny day!
So, back to why I decided this was a perfect way to spend a birthday? Well, you tend to get a lot of phone calls on your birthday, right? So, if you're at work, you're chatting with friends/family...not really working. If you've taken the day off to do something fun - then you're getting interrupted with the phone calls (albeit, good interruptions!) So, if you're gonna have to sit in a car, headed East for 8 hours, you might as well be able to fill the time talking to friends and family who are wishing you a happy birthday, right?!

I really did end up talking on the phone much of the car ride, which made the time go by rather quickly! The other highlight of my drive home was that I saw all the Tour of Missouri team cars heading back West! Garmin Chipotle, Columbia, Rock Racing, United...I saw a bunch of them, so that was fun!
What else? Well, it seems this was a horrible day in the market, so I was also hearing of Lehman's collapse and other potential buy-outs. Lots going on to keep my birthday busy! ha ha
I got back in town around 4, and went by my parents' house to pick up Tucker. He was excited to see me. I ran home, showered and changed and headed out to Bill and Kim's house.

The dogs (Bill & Kim's 2, Mom & Dad's, and Tucker) were all there and, of course, being crazy together!

I could be bummed about being a year older, but the truth is that I've accomplished more this year than I ever have before. My 30's - so far - have been way more productive than my 20's were. So, no need to be blue about aging, right? Just make each year better than the one before!
