Trek to REI

This morning we rode our bikes to REI and did some looking around (and a teeny bit of shopping)! There's a Starbuck's in the store, so we sat there for a while, sipping on coffee and chatting. It's amazing to me the bike path system they have set up in the Denver area. We hopped on this bike path right by Jenn's apt., and rode it all the way downtown - it goes for ever! And, you see all kinds of people and bikes out there. I was impressed by the number of families I saw riding together. It looks like lots of folks run their errands, grocery shop, etc...all by using bikes. Very neat!

Anyway, we sat for a bit and then rode back. What a perfect ride. It was a little cool today, but not terrible. The path is pretty flat, so that was a nice contrast to yesterday's ride at Garden of the Gods. And, while the heart rate was getting pretty high yesterday, it barely moved today.

Meet Willie and Cali, Jennie's cats. They look and act young, but they are both "old" gals. They love me, I'm sure, 'cause I'm always messing with them, trying to get them to play with me. They have actually slept with me too - I'm used to the 90+ pound dog, and he doesn't purr, so that was an adjustment.

I threw a few more pics from yesterday's events in todays entry, since I had a ton from yesterday! Enjoy!

Jennie is supposed to be getting a washer/dryer delivered and has had trouble with the scheduling...still no washer/dryer and mounds of laundry to catch up on. Poor gal!

I drove over to Littleton this afternoon, to visit a co-worker of mine - Brett. He and his family just moved out to the Denver area (due to his job), and are getting settled in. So, I went by to see their new digs and meet the family - even Babo, the fish made the trip with them! It was a fun visit, and really nice to meet his wife and 3 girls!

Jennie took me out for a birthday dinner tonight. Yes, the ol' birthday is tomorrow, so she treated me to dinner. We ended up going downtown to eat - I think the place was called Rockbottom Brewery. The food was excellent! (either that or we were just starving!)

That was it - another full day in the big city. Oh, we tried to get a gal at the restaurant to take our picture, but apparently that was out of her realm of capability, 'cause neither of the shots she took turned out. So, here's Jennie...
