Successful Saturday!

I woke up this morning to thunderstorms. I had planned to either hit the road by myself, to log some longer miles, or head up to Epic for the group ride this morning. When I heard the rain, I wasn't sure either plan would work...it rained until after 9, so I spent a little time catching up on laundry - and OLYMPICS!

I thought it was supposed to rain again in the afternoon, so I decided to get out there - for a run instead. I hate to admit this, but here goes - I have only run 3 times since CDA! (so, 3 times in 2 months) Once was the brick workout I did up at Epic, and then the other 2 times have been races. So, my point? I've run no more than 3 miles - 3 times - in 2 months. Yes, a run was in order.

I donned the ol' Nike+iPod and hit the park. The plan was to do 5 miles and just see how that went. It went pretty well. My laps were registering right at 9 min/miles, so that's pretty decent. I did slow to 9:30 for the final 5th miles and my legs felt a bit hollow, but I got 'er done. My mom came out to the park for her long walk - the timing couldn't have been better. She drove up just as I finished my last mile. She was kind enough to bring Tucker out - so, I walked with them...close to 2 miles. It sure was heating up at that point, and actually had turned into a very clear day - would've been pretty good cycling weather, but I definitely needed that run!

Home to shower, eat and take a short nap. I got a ton of errands taken care of this evening, so I'm feeling a little better about that. Tomorrow is a packed day - church, work at Epic, and then I'm taking a group of clients to the Springsteen concert tomorrow evening. I'm sure I'll be pooped after all of that!
