Bunch o' randomness

certainly not my typical Sunday...I went from church, straight to Epic (well, that part has been typical) this past Sunday. The shop wasn't quite as nutty as it has been in the past few weeks...which was kind of nice. I left work just a touch before 5 and raced home, quickly changed clothes and grabbed a little something to eat. I was out the door again - heading to the Sprint Center to meet clients for the Bruce Springsteen concert. Yes, I had to entertain clients at the big event. I wasn't sure what traffic/parking would be, so I ended up being WAY TOO EARLY! I had been on my feet all day, or I would've walked around the P&L District a bit. Instead, I found a place to perch inside the Sprint Center and did some quality (and I do mean, quality!) people watching. What a hoot!!! It did amaze me - the wide variation of folks in attendance for this event. I waited and waited and waited...good times.
The concert was supposed to start at 7:30, so around 7:25, I finally went in and sat down. My clients came in about 15 minutes later, so we chatted a bit. Well, The BOSS didn't end up coming on stage until 8:45!!! Wouldn't it be nice if we were all so popular that we could show up 1:15 min late to an appointment and everyone would wait for us?
I will say, the man can perform. Our seats (as you can see from the picture) were behind the stage. I wouldn't have guessed they would be as great as they were - it was really the best view, unless you were in the pit down below. You could see everything - guitar exchanges, drinking water from the bucket/sponge...oh yes, very entertaining. Lisa (our client's spouse) and I were amazed at how many folks in that pit new EVERY word to EVERY song! Hmmm. Not I. And, since a ton of people have asked - no, he did not do "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" or "Born in the USA". Try not to be too disappointed!
I left there right around midnight and hustled home to bed! No offence, Bruce, but I would've rather watched the final moments of the Olympics!!! :-)

So, another nutty day in the office Monday. My clients have been pretty demanding and a tad unreasonable lately. I've been getting a little frustrated (ok, and cranky) because of it, but I'm determined to let it roll this week. I'll still work hard to get as much done as I can - but a girl can only do so much.

After work, I bolted out to Bill and Kim's house. "Let's go KAY-Aking..." (Kim and Bailey will appreciate this comment)
We loaded up the kayaks into the truck and met Bill out at the lake. Bailey and I got into the kayaks and took off. Woohoo - I loved it! I don't know that I've ever really kayak-ed? It's a great workout - it was a beautiful afternoon/evening - and we had a good time. Bill's jet ski died, so we ended up out there a little longer than initially planned, but it was great. I totally intend to get up there and do that more often!

I got home a bit later than I really wanted, but quickly pulled my stuff together for Tuesday morning and hit the hay. And, this morning, I got up for a swim. This is the last week of swimming for Troy. Little Carson will be making his appearance soon...and Troy's life will certainly get even more hectic!
Swimming was good, though I certainly felt the kayaking in my shoulders. Ahhhh!

That's it for now. Just thought I'd catch up on what's been going on. Tomorrow night I'm going to the Bodies Revealed exhibit at Union Station, so maybe I'll have some interesting comments on that. We'll see.
