I woke up this morning and first thing I did was bolt in here to the computer to see if there were any updates on IM Louisville yet. Robyn was swimming as I was just waking up - oh boy, do I recall all of that anxiety/excitement all too well!
I will be tracking her progress throughout the day, and cannot wait to see her cross the finish line!
What have I been up to? Well, let's see...another busy week at the ol' office, that's for sure. I think I finally realize that there's no such thing as "catching up" - just do what you can do, right?
Wednesday, after work, I went to see the Bodies Revealed exibit at Union Station. It was definitely interesting - and a little creepy too.
Thursday evening, Tri KC was holding a brick workout starting at Epic, so I planned to do that. Terry and I ended up meeting right about 5 and rode for a while prior to the brick starting. The brick got going around 6:45 (with storms looming). When we hit the turnaround on the bike, Terry and I decided to just keep riding and get more miles in...as it turned out, I ended up skipping the "run" portion of the brick - just called it good with the 35(ish) mile ride. Terry got his run in - and fast! We never really did get rained on, which was a nice touch.
Local Cycling was having a par-tay at the shop at the same time, so when I finished riding, I hung out for a little bit and chatted with a few folks. Looked like they had a great turnout!
Friday after work, I met up with Bill and Jenny at the downtown airport. It was a pretty nice night, though the fumes down there were bad! Anyway, I think we ended up with 16 miles - something like that. Good ride.
And, yesterday, I drove up to Smithville for a run with Bill and Kim. We actually drove to a trail, which is just a few miles from their house. It was a GREAT running spot. We intended to run 10, but ended up with 9 - not too shabby, considering none of us have run that far lately! The trail is a nice, paved, and mostly shaded route...there are a few hills that are killers on the way back, but it's a great workout, and we had a blast being out there together!
I think that's about it for now. I'll likely have another post later today or tomorrow about Robyn's IM, and Paul's housewarming par-tay!

I've been meaning to ask for awhile but always waited hoping to catch the meaning in context but I'm not sure if I have gotten it completely. What is a "brick" workout? Cycling and running? Is it a certain distance for both or something else?
Hey Dawn,
Guess what?! I made the play! I was cast as a Hot Box girl. Make sure you leave open November 21st. I sent this to your work, too. I didn't know which would come first.

Looking forward to hearing about Robyn's ironman. :) Sharon
