I just had to share this funny thought - those who have trained for endurance events will likely find the humor in this, those who haven't may not find it funny at all.
Tonight I had a swim workout - 2300 yds/meters. I had to be to work early, so I ended up saving this for this evening. I hit the pool around 6pm, and I was already hungry (not a good idea). Those who keep up with my blog also know that I've had a bit of an arm injury that kept me out of the pool for a couple months...so, while 2300 isn't terrible, I was feeling like jelly well into the workout. Rather than counting my laps/strokes or focusing on form, wanna know what I was thinking?

I have a can of nuts in the car - almonds, cashews and macadamia mix - Mmmm, those sound really good. I really want to have some of those nuts. I'm pretty hungry. When I finish this swim, I can eat some of those nuts. I'd sure like to crack open that can of nuts right now. Mmmm, those sure do sound good. Nuts! Nuts! Nuts! Why isn't this swim over so I can eat. Which of the three nuts do I like best? That's a tough call. Too bad I can't do a taste test right now. I sure would like some of those nuts.
It's the little things, right? I was so happy to finish that swim and get back to my car!!! ;-)

hahaha Dawn I love it! This sounds like something triathletes could have an hour conversation about, no? Its always about food with us!
So true! The last time I had thoughts about food like that, it was about the celebratory pizza after El Tour de Tucson. All I could think about besides that it would taste really good was which toppings would taste better on it. I'm glad it's not just me... =)
