Happy New Year?

Howdy! So, I let the new year get by a bit before actually getting back on here for a post. The year is off to a great start so far, and there are good things coming this year!

I rang in the new year at Terry and Kathy's house, playing games (ever heard of Farkel? It's a very fun dice game!) and eating junk. What better way to start the new year, eh?

Now it's back on the very straight and narrow with my eating. I've been good with the workouts, but a slacker with my diet. So, back to it! The Ironman is in 6 months - YEOWCH!!!

I started my new job last week and am absolutely loving it - with a whole 6 days under my belt! :-) Mind you, I literally moved around the corner from my old desk, so things aren't completely different. So far, so good.

I am also in the thick of ironman training, and it's hitting me that in less than 3months I will ride 100 miles the day before I run the St. Louis marathon. Yikes!

Troy and I went on what was supposed to be a 3.5 hour ride Saturday. It was the first time in about a month that we were able to ride outdoors. Let's just say that a quick melting of about 4 weeks worth of snow and ice makes for pretty sloppy roads. We were loving life, however, for about 2 hours of our ride! I had a flat, we were chased by three dogs (why do they always get you when you're going up the hill???), then Troy had a flat, then Troy had another flat...we ran out of all our spare tubes and CO2, and since it would've taken me 2 hours or more to ride back to the car and get back to Troy, we opted to call for help. Terry (and Kathy and Harrison) were kind enough to come rescue us. We were happy, 'cause the sun was going down and it was getting rather chilly again! Thanks guys!!!

What else? The January session of my spinning class started and we have a great group. We're going M/W/F now, rather than just M/W. So far, I like it, but we'll see if I still like it by the end of the month. Getting up at 4:30ish every morning may prove pretty difficult. :-)

Well, I think that catches you up sufficiently on what's going on here. I have lots of pics to post, but just haven't had time to download them from my camera and add them to the blog. Perhaps I'll post an entry of all pics...
