Sorry to be so spotty...

Ugh...I'm sorry I've been so spotty in my blogging the past few weeks. There has actually been lots I'd like to blog about, just very little spare time in which to do it. So, let's see if I can do another quick, boring catch up on things.

Last Sunday Robyn raced IM Louisville - and, I was watching my computer screen as she crossed that finish line! How exciting to watch, now knowing what that experience feels like! You can read about her experience on her blog -

Labor day - we did a group bike ride from Park Hill, out Interurban. It was a great turnout this morning...easy rollout and then folks just cut loose at whatever pace they wanted on interurban. Chris, Jenny, Janet, Bill, Troy, Pat, and his buddy (starts with an R, but I'm stuggling to recall his name) came out. It was fun. I think we rode a little more than 2 hours, and then we all went to breakfast (see, Ryan, I don't always abbreviate breakfast!) at First Watch. Well, Bill and Troy had to skeedaddle, but the rest of us went. Pat's wife, Stacy, also joined us and it was nice to finally meet her. Great time all around!

Later that afternoon, I went out to Bill and Kim's house. We hit the lake for some kayaking and riding on the jet ski. The lake was pretty busy, which made for a much harder effort in the kayak! It was fun though. Bill and I paddled into this little inlet, beached the kayaks and swam a bit. Kim and Bailey joined us too, after tearing it up on the jetski!
Mom and Dad came out and met us back at the boat launch, with the dogs. They were loving playing in the water. Tucker kept bobbing under the water, trying to bite at the tiny waves as they splashed up. Too funny! We ended up loading everything up and driving over to another spot where we could let them off leash and they absolutely loved that! Well, immediately, Tucker tore over to a group of people in the water - you've never seen a beach area clear so quickly...he just wanted to see the little kids and make sure everyone was ok. Bad boy!
Anyway, we threw sticks into the water and watched Max and Tucker swim after them. It was a blast!
Back to the house - we ate dinner and hung out. It was a lot of fun!

Work was the usual craziness. I had 2 client meetings going on - at our buildings - Thursday. So, it was nutty keeping those on track. Then, around 1 I was off to the airport. I went to Dallas for a client dinner Thursday night, and then a meeting all day Friday. So, I got home around 8pm Friday night. Whew!

Yesterday, Epic hosted the Parkville Bicyle Festival - I was leading a group ride that I thought started at 9. Well, no one was there at 9, so I took Scott's son and his friend (9th graders, mind you) out on a ride. When we got back, the TriKC folks were there - the ride actually started at 10! So, I rode with them again at 10! That was a fun ride. I got to chat with these two fellas about various races/rides going on. Very fun!

After showering/cleaning up at the bike shop, I went back to the festival. There were tons of boy scouts out there! Epic was doing bike checks, and the police were out there checking helmets and having a coned course for the kids to ride through for some sort of prize. It was fun to watch them. I just helped out at the Epic tent and chatted with some of the TriKC folks. It was fun - well, until it started raining. We ended up closing things down a little early. Just as we were doing that, mom and dad showed up with Tucker and Max. I didn't see them for long, but it was nice of them to stop by!

I worked until after 6 at the shop. I was so fortunate to get some first-hand bike training from Specialized demo fella, Mark. He went through some of those bikes in so much detail - it was great! By the time 6pm rolled around, I was cooked! Brain full...belly hungry...feet barking...long day - make that a long week!

So, there you have it - Monday through Saturday, in one long update. I do have some pics, but for sake of time at this point, I'm just posting this out here. This week will probably be another busy one at work, but some fun stuff in store - I get to hang out at the VIP tent for the Tour of MO stage 1 tomorrow. I'm SO EXCITED to watch the womens crit race, followed by the mens. Megan (team manager for DFT) will be racing with the women, so that'll be even more fun to watch! Stay tuned for more updates...and hopefully some pictures!

Spelling out breakfast is just much more scholarly and professonal, and I thank you for taking my comments seriously because as you may or may not know a very important businessman.

I suggest that the scholarly businessman spell professional correctly. Shall we discuss whether or not his comment uses correct grammar and punctuation? The sentence structure may need a bit of help. HA! :)
