Day off!

Well, I was planning to go for a bike ride today, but Troy called this morning and wasn't able to go. Terry couldn't go till later in the afternoon, and after the ride I had yesterday, I'm thinking maybe I should just give them a rest pre-race.
I took Tucker and we went up to the firestation in Smithville to see Bill and the fellas. Bill was showing me on their enormous map, the race route for tomorrow. I kinda wanted to see it - I've ridden around there several times, so I thought I knew it, but just wanted to be sure.
So, I hung out with the guys for a bit. Tucker was loving it, and was soooo good! Kim and Bailey met me up there and brought Subway for lunch. Thanks and YUM! We ate and then they took off to do some b'day shopping, and Tucker and I went to drive the race course.
I must comment on the picture - the one with the guy, posing on the fire truck. Apparently Tyler thought if he demonstrated this pose, Tucker would see it and jump right up. We were cracking up laughing!!! I'm sure he's very sorry this picture was taken...and even worse, that Bill now has a hold of it!

Of course, I did manage to get a shot of Tucker up on the fire truck, so maybe Tyler was helpful after all! :-)

I drove the course and made sure I knew where the race started, etc. and we headed home. I'm so pooped today - and it seems as though Tucker is also worn out from the days events. We came home, ate dinner and settled in to watch the opening ceremony of the Olympics. I love the Olympics, and plan to DVR quite a bit of the action. In fact, I'll probably stay up later than I should tonight - just because I won't be able to stop watching!
