Craziness...

that's what this week has been. Seems like I haven't been home before 8, or in bed at a decent time all week. In fact, I'm still at the office as I type this - I just thought I needed to throw something out here, 'cause the last thing I want to do when I get home is get back on the computer!

I woke up with an ugly headache this morning, and - had I not missed swim on Tuesday due to some work - I would've skipped out and stayed in bed a bit longer. I thought a POT of coffee would help, but no such luck. I got my stuff together and headed to the Y, with my coffee.

So, we made some new friends at the pool this morning - Casey and Bob. They've been coming to Masters for a few months as well, and both did SM tri last weekend. It was Casey's first - WAY TO GO! It's fun meeting new folks who are interested in the sport. We talked to them for a while and decided to start swimming. Just putting on my swim cap made my head feel like it was going to pop right off. I thought maybe after I started swimming, the headache would subside - so, I did the warm up and just a couple of the first few sets, and it just seemed to get worse. I tried taking the cap off, but then I couldn't see anything with all the water running off my hair and onto my goggles. I told Troy I was gonna give it one more set and see how it went. Well, as I was coming into the wall, I stopped short and stood up - Troy was like, "are you ok?" Well, other than the fact that I almost just lost it (yes, as in hurling - blowing chunks - and having nothing to do with the effort!) right there in the lane. Yikes! I'm done.

I stood under a hot shower hoping that would help. No such luck. There is the cutest little old gal that comes into the locker room as I'm getting ready. I've seen her many times before and it's always the same routine - she comes in, looking all put together. Her hair is always pulled away from her face with a clip on each side - looks like she just fixed it. She gets into her swimsuit, sits down on the bench, gets out a compact and her lipstick - and carefully applies a very thick layer of extremely bright, red lipstick. She tucks the compact and lipstick back into her bag and heads out for her swim. It honestly is the cutest, funniest thing to watch! I think her motto is: A girl's always gotta look her best.

I hurried off to work, ate some b'fast and took some drugs (of course - the legal kind!). As luck would have it, I had to sit in a training class all day today...that's fun anytime, really, headache or not! Let's go!

It's been a long day, but thankfully, the headache has subsided for the most part. But enough about me...oh wait, this is MY blog. :-)

Is anyone keeping up with the Tour? It's been a great one to watch this year! Maybe that's why I'm getting to bed so late - I just can't quit watching. Thank goodness for the DVR - I wouldn't survive if I had to watch all 3 hours!

Ok, last note and I MUST get out of here - I'm pulling together another group ride this Saturday a.m., so anyone interested in tagging along is more than welcome to join us - it's PERFECT for all levels...I promise! Let me know if you're interested and I'll give you more scoop.
