I'm not sure if others of you have struggled with these feelings, but I find myself a little lost all of the sudden. I knew this would happen, but you still can't quite prepare for exactly how it will feel. You work toward something for a year, and you're bound to feel a bit out of sorts when it's finally completed.
So, I find myself wondering what's next, and how to get back into the swing of things again. I still have one more day off work, which is great, so I'll be back to the normal grind Tuesday. Perhaps then I'll feel a little more normal again.
It's just a good time to reflect on what has been accomplished and what I want to achieve in the future.
I still have lots of photos to gather, pictures to post and people to thank...it's just been a thoughtful couple of days.

Call Corky...I know she went through it. And make sure you figure out how to deal with it, because I'll be calling you in 8 weeks asking what to do!!!
P.S. could have used you on my 6 hour ride today...I did it solo! UGH!
Dawn ~
I can only imagine how you must feel...you accomplished so much this past year and what does the future hold for one who has reached something many atheletes dream of but don't actually do....
Take this time of reflection and peace knowing that you have been an inspiration to so many....dedication and accomplishments come in many small and big packages...and who knows what the Lord has for you around the bend....it may be an accomplishment in further education, goals to reach at work, and maybe even training someone who is interested in getting in shape....becoming someone elses coach...you have much to offer.
My thoughts and prayers will be with you during this time....whatever you do DON'T GET DEPRESSED!!!
Much Love ~ Cindy
While I haven't felt the emotional roller coaster to the extent you are you still have races ahead to prepare for. Your duathlon coming up - surely transitions can be worked on (I haven't ever heard anyone that couldn't improve). When you've fully recovered you can work on an area you feel could use more attention and work in your athletic routine. I always look for ways to get faster...I can never be too fast, only not fast enough.
Also, you have completed something that many haven't. You have a vast amount of knowledge about racing in an Ironman. Is there someone YOU can mentor? Perhaps your brother? What about any other friends? Help them prepare for any events they have coming up whether it be in person working out with them or giving them the mental push to go a little farther when they just want to quit.
You are feeling totally normal! You just completed what is (most likely) the longest race you will ever complete. That's pretty tough to top! Give yourself some time to get back into the swing of things, there will be plenty of things to focus on with your training. Afterall, we can ALL work on getting faster :)
