Well, lots of March birthdays on the ol' blog! Today is my sister's birthday. Shall I tell how old she is? Nah, I don't want to get in trouble. :-) I should probably mention that Sharon lives in PA with her husband and two boys. I've talked about them on the blog before, but just so you don't wonder why there aren't birthday dinner pics showing up on here. Happy Birthday, Sharon - I hope you have a great day!
I opted to wait a bit on the long run today. It was cooooold this morning. I think somewhere in the upper 20's? No, no...I don't want to get out in that when it's supposed to be 50 at some point today.
We had choir practice for the Easter music we'll be singing tomorrow, so I decided to run after practice. I got out to the park a little before 1 and started my run. I remembered my iPod and my Nike+ sensor deal so I could program 1hr 45min into the iPod and forget about the rest. I really like that thing and the truth is that I don't use it enough. I wasn't sure how the legs would feel after yesterday's workout, but they actually felt really good when I got going. Good deal, since I needed to run a little faster than my normal pace.
I was 4 miles into the run when Kathy and Marcus came out. Marcus ran and Kathy walked. It's always nice just knowing there are other people out there with you. I had about 50 minutes to go when they left. I was just trying to stay fueled/hydrated and keep up my pace. I think there were a couple times when I kinda wanted to be done, but when I assessed the situation, my legs felt fine - breathing was fine...keep running. I felt so good when I finished the run. I hope I'm still feeling good tomorrow.
I hurried home and cleaned up. Kathy and I did a bit of shopping this evening. We also met Terry for dinner (always about the food, huh?). I bought a couple things for my parents for Easter, which was fun. We even stopped by their house to deliver the goods...Donna just couldn't wait for her surprise.
Oh, and it's not just Sharon's birthday - I reminded Terry earlier that 5 years ago today, we were sitting in the Honda dealer wheeling and dealing while Kathy sat in the car reading a book. Too funny, and my how time flies by!
