Spinning Certification - Renewed!

Well, this morning I got up and immediately got started on renewing my Spinning certification. I went through the initial certification 2 years ago in February, when I attended an all day seminar and tested following the class. The certification is good for 2 years. During that 2 year period, you are encouraged to attend workshops, etc. to earn "points" for recertification. Regardless of what you do throughout that period, you still have to test again in 2 years. (by the way, for those who don't know, there is a charge for all of this)

Anyway, my deadline is sometime next week, so I needed to get busy and get 'er done. So, I opted for the online study this time around. You work through something like 12 modules and then take an online test. Sounds easy enough, huh? As I went through the modules, I was pleasantly relieved to find that I was still following the "rules" set forth by the Spinning program. I was very familiar with everything being covered and thought - this will not take me 5 hours to complete (as they suggest it might at the start of the online course). Well, I was wrong. Though I was able to work through the modules fairly quickly, the test was a little different and much more thorough than I recall it being in the past. It's close to 100 questions, and it did take some time - when all was said and done - for me to complete my renewal. I passed the test with flying colors and am now set to teach Spinning for 2 more years!!!

After wrapping that up, I hopped on the trainer for 3hr15min of spinning pleasure! ha ha It's still fairly cold outdoors and, while I would brave the cold, the roads are SO sloppy! Ice/Snow/Slush everywhere! I should've hopped a plane to Phoenix for the weekend...why am I just now thinking of that??? Anyway, I endured my time on the trainer - oh, by the way, I LOVE the new saddle (previous post)!!! It's so, so, so much better than what was I was previously riding on.

I talked to Troy today too - he's in St. Louis being a good friend. He's still getting his workouts in. It sure is nice to have someone to follow through this process. There are just so many questions/thoughts and notes to compare - it's been great having a buddy to "train" with!

I think that might be all for today. Toodle-loo!
