After breakfast, we all got dressed in workout gear - yes, that's right - we headed out for a group workout. Eric's company has a fitness facility, and he was able to get us all signed in to use that for a day. Oh, by the way, Lonnie is one of the gals training to walk the St. Louis 1/2 Marathon. We would've liked to do a big walk outdoors, but it is SUPER cold, and everything is ice/snow covered, so not very conducive to walking.
Back to the workout - it was really fun with everyone down there - we all just picked different machines - treadmills, elliptical, stairsteppers, bike, weights...and the sweating began. It was more of a circuit, 'cause we would switch around when someone got tired of one thing. I think we were there for an hour and a half or so. I even tried the punching bag (note: i'm not very good with the rythym on that one!).
Tonight, we went to an enormous bowling alley that had a huge gameroom. We all played games - starting with Eric, Olivia and Josh on the bumper cars.
Lonnie impressed us on the ball toss (can't remember if that's really what it's called - it's that game where you roll a ball up the ramp and into one of the rings that are all different point values). Anyway, she was quite good.
Liv and I went on this roller coaster type ride, where you just sit in the chair and it moves all around and shakes and stuff...all while you're watching a screen that makes you feel like you're actually on a roller coaster. That was fun! (that's what we're doing in the picture).
We used up all our "tickets" and the kids got to pick some prizes, and we were off to dinner. Eric really wasn't feeling well at dinner, so we didn't really hang out too long there, and I think he headed straight to bed when we got back to the house.
Lonnie and I watched a movie - she kept yelling at me to wake up - it's quite pathetic that I just cannot stay awake anymore once I sit down. It didn't help matters that we were downstairs by the fireplace, making it all warm and cozy. Yep, I was sleepy time! With that, Day 3 in the Windy City comes to a close.
