Christmas with the Wilkes

If you've been reading my blog, you've been introduced to my very good, long-time friends, the Wilkes.
I was scheduled for a day off work today, but had to get up to teach spin class anyway. So, my new team was having their first team meeting with the new manager and new members-I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to attend the meeting. Trouble was, it was from 9:30 till NOON! Oh well, it's an easy day, and fun to start out with the new team!

Huge bummer was that it's the first semi-nice day we've had in what feels like eternity. Terry, Troy and I were going to meet at the airport to ride for a bit...there was just no way I could fit it in to the rest of my day. I was terribly sad to miss the ride. I stopped by to say a quick hello on my way across the Broadway Bridge.

Now, on to the fun stuff - I came home and wrapped presents for tonight's Christmas with the Wilkes' clan. Kathy was also working today, so I had to go over and do a little work on the meal she started earlier this morning. My job? Make up the dinner rolls and cinnamon rolls. Yes, folks, homemade rolls - Mmmmm, Mmmmm, good! (and bad!)
I did that, and ran back home to finish up a few things.

I went back over to their house around 6, and the festivities began. The boys were pretty excited about opening presents - well, really Harrison was excited. He's always chomping at the bit...it's funny! We ate dinner and as soon as the dishes were done, we opened gifts. Here are a few pics from that bit o' fun.
So, here's a picture of me and the boys...apparently, I'm so excited I can't keep my eyes open!

And it's contagious, 'cause here's a shot of me and Marcus where he seems to have squinted his eyes away!

Harrison is happy with his new DVD...though I ended up trading him for the "original" Chipmunks!

And, this mug has been around a very long time - long story, but it makes me laugh!

Then, we played Scene It, which I believe was a gift they got last year at Christmas. Kathy and I against the boys. I can't even remember who won, but I think we did! :-)

All in all, a very fun time spent together. We've been doing this for 12 years now, I think, and it's always special!
