A Routine

Alarm sounds at 5am. Bleary-eyed and still quite sleepy, I turn it off. For a split second, I consider falling back asleep. No, no...get up! So, I did get up, donned the swimsuit, and fixed some breakfast. Putting on a swimsuit when it's 30 or 40 degrees outside (not to mention 5 o'clock in the morning!), just seems so wrong!

For the past few weeks, I have been bad about packing up my gym bag and getting clothes together the night before, well - no more - I'm back in the game. I packed everything up last night and even put it in the car. Woohoo.

I got to the pool a little before 6 and was happy to see that it wasn't very crowded. It's much nicer when you don't have to wait on a swim lane...and even better when you get an entire lane to yourself. The swim went well, but I did not allow enough time to run, so that will have to wait until after work. Bummer - I wanted to have it all done this morning.

So, this is what I will be doing for the next 7.5 months as I continue to prepare for Coeur d'Alene. I will load up multiple gym bags at night, sleep, wake up early, pack food galore for my day, workout, go to work, workout, go home, start all over.
And the sick part is? I think I'll (for the most part) enjoy the discipline and the journey.

I hear ya sister!! I've found something that gets me up faster - If I yell at my alarm my dog goes berzerk and starts barking and play-fighting with the night stand. That makes me laugh so hard I actually don't mind getting out of bed... Maybe Tucker could help you out like that?
Has the thought crossed your mind yet to sleep in your swimsuit? Just wondering. :) Cheers to IM!
