THE PLAZA LIGHTS - 6:45 p.m.
One of our other traditions in the past...uh...maybe 6 or 7 years, is going to the lighting at the Country Club Plaza. It's pretty convenient, as I can park at our office buildings, and we can just walk down to the plaza. We always go with some family friends, the McCubbins, so we did the same this year.
Kim and Bailey got to my folks' house around 5, and then the McCubbins (Scott, Amy, Clayton, and Holly) came over around 5:30. We all headed to the Plaza. It was pretty chilly, but FINALLY, we had the great idea to buy handwarmers for everyone's gloves. That helped a bunch!
There's always some singing and such going on down there, but we don't really get in front of the stage, rather stand about a block away and watch everything from there. It's fun watching all the people pour into the street. Basically, you just stand around and chatter, people watch, and act silly until the countdown begins. Then, at 6:45, they flip the switch and the entire Plaza is outlined in shiny Christmas lights! I love it! They also have fireworks (which, as I recall, were much better - and longer-lasting, last year)! Here are a few pictures of all of us at the lights...

Thanks for writing. I was checking to see the re-cap of the day. Sharon
