This morning, I took Bailey to school. She and my mom went to the Manheim Steamroller last night, so she spent the night at Grammy's and the plan was for her to go to school late.
I went to pick her up and to my surprise, I needed to help her finish her homework. Good thing I remembered my long division skills! ha ha We worked on math for a while and got everything together and headed up to Smithville. We brought Tucker along for the ride too!
After dropping Bailey off at school, I stopped by the firestation. My bro and his coworkers had just come back from a fire. I guess I've never actually seen them return from a fire - I've been around many times when he's been called out to a fire. Anyway, you could smell the fire on them, and all their faces were covered in black ash/soot (not exactly sure what I should call that). Anyway, it was interesting watching them get everything cleaned up and such.
As it turned out, Tucker and I stayed up there for a while. We ended up going to lunch with them - well, Tucker had to sit in the car and wait for us, but he was so good today! Oh yes, and it was snowing like crazy for a little bit. We had some flurries this past Sunday, but that's the most snow I've seen so far this season.
I ended up just hanging out after lunch, 'cause Troy and Cathy were heading that way with the boys. Bill and I rounded up the coloring books and some kiddie fire hats, stickers and such.
It was funny, 'cause once they arrived, the boys saw a basketball goal in the bay and that's all they wanted to do was shoot hoops. Funny! They were so cute once they got in the firetrucks and started checking everything out. I hope Cathy was able to get some good pics of them! They even went for a ride with sirens blaring. I took lil' Carson inside to avoid waking him with all the noise! It was fun having them stop by and watching the boys look at everything.
I finally decided to leave the station - I think the guys were probably ready for me to leave! :-) It was a fun time.
Of course, after I got back home I realized I forgot to give Bill all of Bailey's stuff, so Tucker and I drove up to the hospital and met up with Kim to drop it all off. That's about it for me today - I'm tellin' ya, this life of randomness - I could get used to it!

Sounds like a great day! You should come here to help me teach the boys. Do you want 5th grade or 8th?
