What a contrast to my griping about the weather this winter! We have really had some incredible weather the past few weeks. I keep reminding myself that I need to get outside as often as possible to take advantage, as far too soon it'll be snowing!
I worked from home this morning, 'cause we had client event later this afternoon. So, around 1pm, I donned the running apparel and headed outdoors. It was simply beautiful out there - I wanted to stay out longer, but time wouldn't allow. I ran 4 miles, walked a cool down and jumped in the car to head home. Oh yes, and I developed a new method of accountability - I had my camera in the car, so I was gonna snap a few pics of the park. I ended up shooting a little video clip (will post later). Anyway, great afternoon to be outdoors!
I met Kim and Bailey - Bailey came with me to my client event at the American Royal BBQ - so, I picked her up and we headed downtown. She was excited to be hanging out with me...and I was happy to have her along! Cammy and I joined forces with some of the sales folks on our FA side and sponsored a tent at the BBQ. The cooking team at our tent was Braizin' Assets, and there was a band, etc. It was a really neat set up...hay bales and all. Bailey and I found our tent and said hello to some of my coworkers. Since it was a bit early, we decided to walk around and see what else was out there. We saw all kinds of set ups with the various tents - including an ENORMOUS balloon with 3 large monkeys hanging down the rope...that was probably Bailey's favorite! We went into the arena, where several vendors were set up. We looked around, entered some drawings, Bailey sat in a helicopter...as we were heading out, Bailey wanted to stop by this station selling beads. She ended up with some stylin' beads, boasting a horse, cowboy hats and boots...pretty sweet!
The rest of the night was spent chatting with coworkers and clients - oh yes, and eating FABULOUS bbq!!! It was melt-in-your-mouth tasty! It started getting pretty crowded towards 9 o'clock, so Bailey and I headed out. All in all, a fun time!
