Another day off...well, sort of

I took today off from my day job. I checked my vacation time and it seems I have plenty o' time left this year, so I thought I'd take another day and get some riding in. I met Terry and Bill at 8:30 and we went out the Interurban route. What a gorgeous day it was too! Perfect weather for a ride.
I had a flat tire on the way back, but changed it without too much trouble. I actually had to use a leaf to cover a jagged spot on my tire. Can you believe that? Where is all the trash from litter bugs when you need it? I honestly could not find one little scrap of paper! Anyway, the leaf seemed to work just fine, but I do need to get some new tires - before Austin!

We had a fabulous ride. Bill is doing great! It won't be long before he's kicking my fanny out there on those rides! Uh-oh! When we got back, Terry needed to take off, but Bill and I decided to grab a bite to eat. That was fun too...just catching up on other things going on in our lives.

Poor Bailey had to go to the doc this morning - she's having pain in her leg and couldn't put weight on it. We had a teeny scare, 'cause the doc sent Kim over to Children's Mercy with her. Thankfully, after x-rays and such, it seems she has some strained ligaments - no broken bones and nothing more serious. She'll just have to take it easy for the weekend, but will be back at it in a few days.

After a couple hours at home, I went in to work at Epic. I don't typically work weekdays, but they have some folks at a bike show this week, so I am helping out. It was a fairly quiet afternoon/evening at the shop, but I organized the glove/winter-wear racks - fun! I really do like working up there - it's always something different and I learn so much! I may have my fill this weekend, however, 'cause I'm there all day tomorrow, and then noon-5 on Sunday. Somewhere in there, I need to get in a long run!
