Who needs a 2nd land line?

Well, since the whole open roof incident a couple weeks ago, my cell phone has been functioning as a land line. It shuts down the moment it's taken off the charger. Obviously that kinda defeats the purpose of having a cell phone.

So, I broke down late last week and hauled myself into the Verizon store, hoping they would re-work my contract and give me the discount on a new phone. I was not shocked to find that they DID indeed work with me to adjust my contract and provide a discount. I've had their service for many years now, and I must say that I've been very pleased with the actual phone service, and the ease I've had working with their customer service folks.

Of course, I couldn't do an even swap - I had to look at the newer models. It's my brother's fault (BILL!) since he has the iPhone. I played around with that thing quite a bit one day and really liked it. I just wasn't willing to leave Verizon for it. Lucky me, they have some similar phones now. So, that's what I did...I got a touch screen phone. I know, I know...I'm crazy!

So far, I like it, but I really need to sit down and go through all the features, as I'm sure there are things I'm not using at the moment. I have 30 days to change my mind, so I better get cracking!

Masters swim was a tough one this morning! Lots of distance without a lot of rest. It was good, but my arms are still feeling a little jelly-like. (yes, Paul, we swam our little hearts out!)
Troy actually did some instructing and tried to help me figure out the breast stroke. It's terrible, really - I only know freestyle. You'd think with just knowing the one stroke that it would be stellar...not so much. Oh well, I'm a work in progress.

Looks like a nice phone! I'm positive you'll find many ways in which you like that one over the iPhone. Gee...a user serviceable battery for starters!

Yeah...I hate Apple. =)

Oops, just noticed that I didn't put my name on my earlier comment "Very nice! Glad you've got a properly working phone."

Hope the Prairie Punisher didn't punish you. :) Looking forward to reading all about it.
