60 days...what?!?!

where on earth does the time go? Today marks the 2 month point till Coeur d'Alene. I must admit, though I feel like I have a lot to accomplish in the coming weeks, I am starting to feel more and more prepared for this event.
I've been a bit lax in blogging this past week and a half - it's just been busy. So cliche, but true. I had a pretty good bike ride this past weekend...at least the weather was a bit more cooperative. I rode 80 miles and tested out a new drink system I got for the ol' tri bike. It worked really well, that is, until my bars started tilting downward. Guess I need to tighten those babies up! I did have a flat, which I ended up changing twice - long story, but good practice. :-)
I ran into a fella who used to belong to the community center where I teach spinning. It was good to see him and catch up on what he and his wife have been up to. I'm jealous, 'cause I learned he'd been back to Hawaii and ridden some of the Kona IM course. Too cool. Anyway, we rode together for a while, which was a great distraction on the time. We also saw a guy crash into the divider that separates 169 South and 169 North. Interesting.

Aside from enjoying catching up with David, and having a riding buddy for several laps, I also learned that he and Lisa found a great masters swim program. Steve has been telling Troy and I for quite some time that he wants us in a masters swim, and it's just been a struggle arranging one more thing on the calendar. Well, this morning, we started masters swim! Yes, that's right...just 60 days away from IM and we're starting to attend masters. Paul, the masters swim coach, is fantastic. In just one session with him, I felt some improvement. It was encouraging to me, as that kinda reinforces the help this will be...even with just 60 days to go.

So, I'm pretty excited. It's also another good way to provide more accountability to the workouts, and you certainly push harder than you would on your own. Thanks for the tip to this program, David and Lisa! It'll be fun seeing you guys weekly again.

That pretty much catches you up with what's been going on. I'll now be getting up at 4:30 a.m. Monday thru Friday. It may hurt a little, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Sleep tight!

Good job on the Masters swim, Dawn! Also, was the crash a bike or car crash? haha.
