Sunday Service the old-fashioned way

If you didn't believe me when I said it was windy this weekend, get this - things were moving along just as they normally do at our Sunday morning service. The choir was about 3/4 of the way through our song and there was a pop and everything was out - no lights, music, nothing...funny, we all kept singing and finished the song in the dark. Once we were done, the ushers had opened several doors, so we were getting some light. Apparently, the winds were so high, many folks around the city lost power for a bit this morning.

It was kinda neat, 'cause we continued on with the service, singing acapella and our Pastor was up there with just the outside light coming in through the doors. Thankfully, the weather was beautiful and warm - it was actually kind of nice having the fresh air. I'm not sure it was even 1/2 way through the message, when the lights came back on, so though we had a section in there that was "old-fashioned", we finished out just like normal.

I was so tired today. I came home from church, ate, and napped for a bit before heading back for choir practice. I still had to get in my 2hr 10 min run, so I bolted straight home from the evening service to get 'er done. I actually pulled my treadmill out into the living room, 'cause I knew I would need a distraction tonight. I ran through Extreme Home Makover, followed by Oprah's Big Give. Those were just the distraction I needed, and though the legs were tired, I was able to finish up my run.
