Last day of January...already?

Wow, I can't believe we're already ending January and moving into February! This month went by very quickly, as they all seem to be doing. There's not a ton o' time left until the Ironman. Weekend training has been getting a bit longer, and the ride/run days have split. This weekend, for example, I'll be riding 4 hours on Saturday and running 2 hours on Sunday. It's funny that those times don't shock me...funny or sad! ha ha
There are really only 2 solid months of training until the BIG training weekend in April. This is when we ride 100 miles on Saturday, April 5, and run the St. Louis Marathon (26.2 miles) on Sunday, April 6.
Troy (see previous blog entries - my friend training for CDA Ironman) has buddies in St. Louis who are setting up a route for our Century ride, so that will be a huge help! I think Terry plans to come out to join us for the ride, and then we should have all kinds of folks out there for to run/walk the marathon the following day.
My mom and three of her friends have been training to walk the half. My friend, Lonnie and a friend of ours from college are also training for the half. Sharon (also in previous post with her husband, Capt. Mike, on the ol' boat) will be running the half. And, of course, Troy and I will be running the full marathon. I'm not sure who else, but this is a great crowd, and it will be so much fun having a big group out there!

What else to catch up on? The new job is going really well - it was such a good move for me! I'm busy learning all the details of new clients and such, but it's been good.

I'm sitting here at my home computer, sipping on my piping hot coffee, getting ready to run on the treadmill. I was going to stick the weather map in here, but suffice it to say that it shows us getting snowed on all day today, starting in about an hour. Fun!

So, I better get at it - enjoy this last day of January!

YAY Dawn keep it up! I'm so impressed you're doing a 100 mile ride followed by a marathon the next day...but I guess its just a warmup for IM...and I'll be doing it soon enough too.....oh man what did I get myself into?!
