AAAAAGGGGHHHH!!!

I got the date WRONG for the FLA Ironman. Duh! I'm not sure why, but I had it in my head that it was tomorrow. I called both Courtney and Julie's cell phones this afternoon, and I must admit that when neither of them answered, I had a passing thought...what if they're racing?! Well, I left each of them a "go get 'em" message, and went about my day.

Let's just say that I am SO glad Dan (Julie's husband) called me back this evening. Thankfully it was in time for me to get home and glue my eyes to the Ironman live video. Dan told me that Julie had just started the 2nd half of the run and wasn't very chatty at the turnaround. Steady as she goes...you can do it, Julie! He also told me that Courtney was doing great and was likely about 3/4 of the way through the run.

I hurried home and got on the website. It didn't take long to check out their status and get the live video stream running. I called Dan back to tell him that you can actually see each person as they cross the finish line (I wasn't sure the cameras stayed focused on the finish or caught the crowd, etc.). As I was talking to him, someone yelled that Courtney had been spotted and should be coming through the finish soon. I think it was maybe 10-15 minutes after that, and I heard the announcer say her name and she crossed that line! I was soooo excited for her! She looked good, but you only see a few feet past the finish line, so hopefully she's feeling ok.

Now, I wait for Julie....Tucker keeps looking at me like, "what are you doing staring at the computer with all that music/noise on???" I told him (like he knows what I'm saying), "we're waiting for Aunt Julie to finish her Ironman!" (For those who don't know, Julie & Dan adopted one of the puppies in Tucker's litter - they have his brother, Max).

What an amazing thing it is to watch all these people crossing the finish line!!!
